Taurerwirt – at home in the centre of the Hohe Tauern National Park
The Taurerwirt's location is unique. Anyone who loves nature is impressed immediately. For here nature is at home, surrounded by nothing else. The "round about" would in itself be more than enough even if it were not for the really special something surrounding the Taurerwirt: the Hohe Tauern National Park. A paradise of nature in more than 1800 square kilometres entices with its unique plant and animal life and unforgettable natural scenery. Austria's highest peak, the Großglockner (3798 m), crowns this natural gem and adorns the Taurerwirt logo with good reason.
As a partner of the National Park we support the concept of interacting with nature respectfully and we want to convey this thinking to our guests also. For this reason we try to work as ecologically as we can. For the most part therefore, we use domestically farmed produce and operate our own small hydroelectric facility.
The Teischnitztal hydroelectric plant was build some 20 years ago by Peter Rogl with a great deal of his own funding and has been providing our company with clean power ever since. We can say with pride that we are one of the leading hotel organisations in Austria to be concerned with ecological economic management.
In any case enjoy the unique nature experience at the heart of the Hohe Tauern Nature Park!
