A location to fall in love with

The „Taurerwirt“ is set in a uniquely beautiful location - in the centre of the Hohe Tauern National Park and surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

In summer you will embark on the most amazing excursions direct from the hotel, e.g. into the romantic Dorfer Valley or to the Großglockner via the Teischnitz Valley.

In winter, you can catch the lift to the ski resort of Kals directly or go on a ski tour. Many guests also appreciate the cross country ski tracks around the Taurerwirt.

Above all however there is much to discover in the area immediately surrounding the Taurerwirt. It is just a few steps or a few minutes walk from your hotel to the „Old Mill“. The Großglockner resort‘s valley station can be reached in 3 minutes by ski bus or car. Here you will find tables and benches for resting or simply for enjoying nature in comfort. From here you also have a wonderful view out over the „Rumplbach Waterfall“. This unique idyll is accompanied by the sound of our village stream which not only drives the old mill but is also our own fishing water. The village stream - a paradise for fly fishers - awaits latterly with a particular focus on trout reintroduction. These have been made native again here in collaboration with the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Numerous walking routes around the „Taurerwirt“ await your discovery. Follow the paths through the magical „Laworaswald“ or up to the „Moaalm“ with wonderful views out over Dorfertal. The majority of walking and hiking routes are also cleared for you in winter.
